My STBs stop receiving guide info and on-demand programming info.
Tech came out and replaced ONT, (2 times) Router (2 times)
Line from ONT to splitter, splitter, line from splitter to router.
Tech then called support to find out about changing from DHCP to PPPoE
(for my town he said PPPoe is what I should be set at).
The support said he was being held hostage by my tech.
After 4 hours and no results, the tech decided to return in the morning.
I played around with the router settings and got it to PPPoE and the guide / on
demand work. Only problem it keeps reverting to DHCP randomly and
after power outages.

What type router? The actiontec's should detect and set to the correct type, automatically. Same is true of some(all?) the other routers.
