Pandora Widget

I've been successfully using the Pandora widget since almost the time it was launched, logged in with my normal Pandora account which allowed me to connect without re-entering a user name and password. I just launched the widget and it prompted me for my user name and password (which seemed strange). But it's not accepting my user name and password, which I've confirmed to be correct. I've confirmed other are seeing this  (see http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r26990939-Pandora-Widget-Login) but I'm posting here in the hopes one of the Verizon folks will follow through with the appropriate people.

As I posted in the thread PJL provided the link to, I have experienced exactly the same thing this week and have reported the problem to Pandora. The response from Pandora indicated that they were aware of the problem and were working to get it fixed.

I understand that Jack, but for at least some of us who did have it, it worked very well (at least it always did for me). Supposedly the reason it was not made available across the entire footprint long ago was a software problem that caused skipping and other sound problems; I never experienced that.

I never have problems with my Tivo upstairs. Why does Pandora work on that, and Verizon can't get it right? Just not desired because of to much bandwidth required? I would really like to have it on my FiOS box!

Good question, and I don't have a clue. All I can tell you is that it worked just fine for me for many months, I have 9 channels set up and it would automatically log me in just fine. Suddently it has quit. Pandora tech support tells me there is a problem and they are working on it, but I don't have a whole lot of faith that we will see it working soon. There are three of us over at DSLReports that have contacted Pandora or Verizon, so I guess all we can do is wait.

Of course apparently it did not work very well in some Verizon areas, and that may have something to do with what we are seeing now. But I never had any issues.

I actually usually listen on my PC rather than the DVR. I don't have a sound system attached to my DVR and the powered speakers on my PC really do a pretty good job, much better than the speakers in the TV. Right now I am at our lake house though, listening to pandora on the crummy built-in speakers in my laptop connected to AT&T DSL Smiley Mad At least it is working this way.....

Perhaps the problem will make it available in other VHOs and on the Cisco hardware. I know widgets for Cisco was on their list.

An update: I just tried Pandora again. The first time it said that my STB could not communicate. So then I tried the Weatherbug widget, that worked fine. So I tried Pandora again, and what do you know, it automatically logged me in and is now playing.

This is crazy. One or two minutes apart, won't work, now works. Not ready for prime time IMHO (despite the fact that it worked flawlessly for many months prior to last week). Anybody have a clue on what the problem was (maybe still is)?

I suspect that is why not everyone has the widget. I wish I did. I gave up pndora with my Tivo my daughter now uses upstairs. I would like to see it out of VHO-4.
