We have small children, and the parental controls enabled are enabled on FiOS. Typically, we disable the controls entirely at night since re-entering them every time we surf channels is unusable. However, it's very easy to forget to turn them back on and the cable in unlocked the next morning. With Comcast, this wasn't a problem since the parental controls re-enabled automatically when you turned the box on and off.
There are a few options for catching parental controls accidentally left unlocked like this:
- Re-enable parental controls when box is turned off and back on.
- Option to disable parental controls for x hours.
- Option to re-enable parental control every day at, say 5am.
