Program my DVR via the web?

Message 1 of 7

Hi,

I have a FiOS DVR and three Digital adapters.  I do not have the Home Media DVR feature since I would need regular boxes instead of Digital adapters.  But here is my question...  Shouldn't I be able to program the DVR via the Verizon web site?  What do I need to do to activate it?  There is nothing on the DVR nor the web site to activate it.

Thank you.

I'm not at my STB to confirm the exact location of the menu, so this is from memory...

If you goto the Settings Menu on the DVR there should be a section for Remote DVR.  When you select it you will be able to Enable it from there.  It will then take 24 hours to enable.

There is a Remote DVR but there is no choice to enable it.   One more thing to note is I do not have FiOS internet at home.  Does this matter?  I have TV and Phone only.

Even though you do not have Internet Services for use on a PC there are internet services being sent to the Router for use by the TVs only.  The STBS get their Guide Information and VOD Content via this internet connection.

When you logon to the Verizon Site with your verizopn.net id try the following:

1 - Under My Services in the Top Center portion of the Screen click on TV

2 - Under that click on My Set Top Boxes

3 - You should see your DVR STB Box Listed

4 - Click on the DVR Icon below the Box

If you do not have the DVR Box you may have something to allow you to sign up for Remote DVR.  If not you may need to call Verizon to sign up.

Here is the Menu Sequence from the DVR if you have not already called Verizon:

  • Press the Menu Button

  • Select the Settings Menu

  • Select the FIOS TV Remote DVR Menu

  • Select The Web Access Menu

  • Select Enable

After 24 hours or so you should be able to access it via www.verizon.com/fiostvcentral/

  • Select the FIOS TV Remote DVR Menu

  • Select The Web Access Menu - This doesn't exist

  • Select Enable - This doesn't exist

I'll call Verizon later on.

Thanks for all the help.
