Programming remote - new tv

Just bought a Samsung 46c670 TV and can't seem to program the Verizon remote - it will not turn on and off the TV or control volume.

Have run through all the standard protocols from Verizon but still no success.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

I have almost the identical same TV, but unfortunately can't help much with the programming (since I can't get to the tv right now, maybe tomorrow), except to say that it went very easily for me.

That having been said, I would like to let you know that there are at least two possible programming codes that will work for your TV. If you get the wrong one, the volume up and volume down control will not repeat (go up or down while holding the volume button on the remote). I lived with that for weeks until someone in the forum let me know how to fix that.

Another thing that is tricky with that TV is that the Verizon remote must be pointed almost exactly at the sensor on the front for it to work.

Take care to do step 5 of the programming instructions. That's the part that steps through all the sub-codes for your Samsung brand TV. Otherwise you will just get the first code, which may or may not work.

Another thing is try is to set the screen brightness low while doing this. Normally it isn't necessary, but it could be that your TV is emitting too much IR radiation and that masks out the remote's signal. Try that as a last resort.
