I have a QIP 6416-2 STB and I have a Panasonic Viera connected via component. I also have a Samsung standard def connected via composite.
After what I am assuming to be an firmware update, where the STB restarted, the composite stopped working. I tried it with another television and it is definitely not working. I tried resetting the box also.
Is there a setting I'm not aware of to turn composite on? Do I have a defective box?
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks.

All outputs should be available simultaneously. Sounds like something has gone wrong with your box. Does your other set have S-Video as an input? If it does you could try that.
I don't believe there have been any firmware updates lately - it is possible that whatever caused you to lose composite caused a "spontaneous" box reset.

All outputs are supposed to be available simultaneously. Component Video goes to my TV, S-VHS goes to my S-VHS VCR, and it continues to work. So I'd suggest unplugging the QIP 6416 for a couple of minutes to do a hard reset, and then see if composite video re-appears. If it does not, I'd suspect either the composite input on the TV is broken (try another composite video input on the TV if it has one) , or the QIP 6416 is broken.

thank you all for the replies.
I tried the composite on my samsung with my dvd and it works fine. It sure looks like the STB is the culprit. I'll try to do another hard reset (unplugging it for 2 min.) again and see if it works.
