Quantum DVR - Disappointment

I recently migrated from an "old" three dvr (cisco) setup to what was promised by the sales representative to be a "new and improved" dual deck (wth one media client) service.

Needless to say, I'm a tad disappointed.   I'm finding that

1. Many of the SD channels are jerky.   I never saw this with the old boxes.   HD channels are fine.

2. ON the "old" service, when recording a program or a series, I could select which DVR to put it on.   The only way I've been able to do this on the Media Client is to change which DVR the media client is connected to (which requires a several minute reboot) and then I can record on a different DVR.

3. It looks like the whole menuing system is one version back from what I had on the cisco  DVRs.

Has anyone else seen the jerky SD channels on the SD boxes?

Is there any way other than changing which DVR the media client is connected to to tell a recording which DVR to use?

Are there plans to bring the menuing system on the "new and improved quantum" boxes so they match what was clearly a newer version on the cisco boxes.

With the 'new and improved' system, there is only one actual DVR box.  The other small boxes just read information saved on the bigger box.  That's why it doesn't give you a choice of where to record to.  As for the old operating system of menus, I am very disappointed in that as well.  You would think the latest and greatest would be fully upgraded to current standards, but I guess not...  Also, you'll find (just like I found out) if you had an external hard drive to boost DVR storage, you cannot use it anymore as the 'new and improved' boxes do not work with external hard drives, even though they have the port for one in the back.  Go figure.  They just want you to purchase the "Premium Service" for an extra $10/month to RENT more storage from them.  I'm debating whether or not to go back to the way things were before, which was nice.

I haven't seen any picture issues with mine. Did you do a self install or have a tech do it?
Check any splitters you have and make sure they are moca 2.0 otherwise you will run into issues.

As far as the new guide goes it is rumored to come out for Quantum in January.

Smiley HappyConsidering the screams in some of the other threads, maybe we should be happy we haven't gotten the updated guide for Quantum yet.  Maybe better to wait some time for it, and get a update that just fixes some of the Bugs.

Unfortunetly we will probably get it beginning in January with all the bugs reported in the 1.9.7 threads, plus a few new Bugs just for us Quantum users.
