Quantum TV dropouts while watching (client) Live-TV

I installed Quantum TV yesterday with the media server and two clients.   I have not yet had the oppertunity to do extensive watching on all 3 units.  However, while watching live TV on one of the clients I noticed periodic (say every 5 - 10 minutes), there was a very brief dropout (1 - 2 seconds) where the picture would pixelate and the sound would drop for a word or two.  When I did a rewind everything was OK.   I still need to watch shows on the other media client and media server to determine how widespread this problem is.

Is this a known issue and/or any immediate suggestions as I continue to debug this issue?   In the meantime, I am holding off on returning my prior DVRs/set top box where I did not experience this problem.

Update -- Quantum TV dropouts while watching (client) Live-TV

After 1 week of using Quantum Media Server with 2 clients, I have observed numerious times when watching previously recorded programs where the sound drops out for a second or two.  If I rewind/replay the sound is fine.  So the problem appears to be with the streaming from the Media Server to the client system.   I just finished a program where the dropouts would occur within a minute of each other.   I also noticed during this show the word "loading" would briefly appear -- but this was at a seperate time from the dropouts.

I have not yet returned my old equipment (2 DVRs and standard box -- in a multi-DVR setup).   As much as I like the Quantum concept, I don't recall experiencing these dropouts with the old setup and am beginning to wonder if I should just cancel the Quantum upgrade until Verizon sorts the bugs out.

Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated.

How do you have your audio hooked up? Are you using HDMI, digital audio/optical, etc.?

I havent experienced the issue on mine.

I have experienced the problem on two client TV hook-ups.

On one of the hook-ups, I use the TV's native sound and a HDMI connection from the client box to the TV.

On the other,  I have a home audio system where I have an optical connection from the client to the amplifier (which does not have HDMI connectors) and a HDMI connection from the client to the TV.

On the media server, I also have an optical connection to the amplifier and a direct HDMI connection to the TV.  In this case, the amp does support HDMI but back in my Comcast days there was some sort of HDMI anti-copyright protocol error that was corrected by this setup -- so I just kept it.  I have not yet noticed the problem on the media server box, but I haven't watched it a lot yet either.

My coax interconnects through a 4-way splitter that the FIOS installer put in place when I switched to FIOS.   Some of my coax dates back 10 years (and is not as thick as the coax used provided by the installer), but I have never experienced signal problems before and when the audio is working -- everything is sharp and clear.

I also noticed the audio dropouts got worse over time.  When I watched a 2 hour show pre-recorded (with fast forwarding), I didn't notice any problems in the first hour.   Then the problem started to infrequently occur.  By the end of the show there were multiple dropouts in a 5 minute period.

In all cases, when I did a quick rewind/replay the sound was fine.
