Question about upgrading to new Fios Quantam Service from Current

Hello,

I am considering upgrdading to the new Quantam services.

I am wondering what happens with your old programs that you have saved and have not watched yet.

How do we back those up and or upload or download those to the new Quantam boxes when we switch.

How does that process work, Can you back them up now to a cloud type service or whatever Verizon Fios offers?

Second Question I forgot to ask, what happens if we do not like. How long do we have till we can change our mind and go back to what we have? What are the cost, fees, and issues that may come up during the so called fine print.

Number of days to return,

what is return policy I guess?

Thanks, Karl

Welcome to the forums.  You're talking to other customers here.  Some of your questions may be best answered by contacting Verizon directly.  Click here for options: Contact Us.

In my experience, it is difficult to "go back" with Verizon.  This is especially true if you currently have a product or package that is no longer available for new sign ups.  Once you switch from that product, you won't be able to switchback to it.  If your current product is available for new sign ups, this should be an issue.

Again, for best results, you need to call or chat with with a Verizon rep.

Good Luck.

While you can save your series recording options, any programs that are recorded on your old dvr will be lost when you upgrade. There is no way to save them.

Verizon will make it hard to go back to the old setup once you upgrade to quantum however it is possible to go back.

There are some on dslreports.com that have gone back, but it was tough. If you have a fios store near you then it's a lot easier.

To save you trouble make sure you want quantum before switching. Quantum is due for the new guide update that the old boxes have right now at the end of January so you might even want to hold off until then to see if anyone reports any major bugs from it.

As others have already said there's no way to transfer old shows on the current dvr so you will loose any recordings. You can only import the settings and series.

I am shocked about how we can't back up recorded shows in this day and age. This is amazing. This the only thing I really hate about upgrading to new boxes.
