Hi, I have the Verizon Motorolla Qip7232 DVR.
My question is, if i hook up the external Western Digital hard drive recommended for the Verizon Motorolla Qip7232 DVR for more space.
Is there a way to save the stuff i downloaded on my Verizon Motorolla Qip7232 DVR on the new Western digital external hard drive DVR.
Or can i use a DVD recorder to send the stuff i downloaded on the Verizon Motorolla Qip7232 to either a DVD recorder or the external Western digital hard drive DVR? Thanks

When you add the xternal hard drive the internal drive with recordings is still accessable (no existing recordings are lost). Any new recordings will go to the external drive until it is full and then the DVR will use the internal drive (if space is avaialable) or begin deleting recordings (starting with the oldest) to make room for new recordings. You can't transefer from the internal to the external or vce-versa
You can real time copy to a DVD recorder by playing back whatever you have on the DVR. BTW - the 7232 is the DVR, it's just a matter of what drive does the storage.

See how do i get it to send the stuff i downloaded on the Verizon DVR to the DVD recorder?
Do i have to go in menu and set it up to send the stuff I downloaded to the DVD recorder.
Also, do i connect the 2 devices using the red, white and yellow cables or you use another connection. I do have other connections on the back of the Verizon DVR.

You download to the DVD by playing the recording on the DVR, and having the DVD unit connected to one of the outputs
on the DVR. Presumably your TV is connected via HDMI cable. That leaves component Video, Composite Video and S-VHS video
outputs available. The Yellow cable (composite video) will provide the lowest quality video, component Video (3 cables) the highest,
and S-VHS in between. For audio you will need the red and white connections on the back of the DVR. Which one you use
will depend upon the available AV input on your DVD unit.

I'm just using a regular coaxial cable from the Verizon DVR to my 1998 Sony 27 inch TV. Its not a Hi Def Tv, so i use a regular coaxial cable. Let me ask this, to transfer the stuff from DVR to the DVD recorder, do i have to first go in menu to set this up?

I figured out how to do it. You can record from the Verizon DVR and from the TV to a DVD recorder.
I called Verizon up and they helped me alittle with the connections, but i still couldn't figure it out.
Verizon told me to call Sony up to figure out the rest and Sony did an amazing job helping me set it up.
I'll post tommorow how to set it up, incase anyone wants to record from their DVR to a DVD Recorder, or straight from their TV to a DVD Recorder. I will say, definitely get a Sony DVD recorder. There tech support was great and the DVD recorder is really good.
