Recording a series on DVR

Hi,

I would like to know how I can setup a recording on a show that will record ALL NEW episodes only? I went to set a recording today (Just got service today) and only saw an option to record show/record series. After selecting record series I was not given an option to record only new episodes. I don't want to waste HD space on shows weve already seen. There must be some way of doing this. We just transfered to FIOS from Optimum and they had this feature, just saying.

Thanks

Michael

When you hit record on a show and hit the record button twice to record the series there should be an option for "record series with options". That is where to choose first run only.

You can correct whats already been done by going to the dvr menu then to manage series recordings then choosing the show. You'll get a pop up where you can choose modify series. The next screen will allow you to choose the first run only option.

I forgot to mention, if you want to set a series to record first run only by default just do the following.

Go into the dvr menu, go down to settings, over to default series options, then over to episodes to record. You can then set first run only as the default option.

Thanks for the reply. After playing around for a bit, i finally was able to find those options. it sure would help if they would leave some type of docs that explain the features. We where left nothing, not even for the router. had to scan the verizon site to find some type of docs.
Thanks again for the reply. I will check out setting up the default settings you suggested.

No problem. I'm surprised they didn't leave you a welcome packet like they did with me.....of course I've had fios for almost 4 years now so who knows if they are even still giving them out.

Here are some useful links and information.

Ch. 1952 has tutorial and fios features (channel might be different where you live, but should be in the same range if not the same)

If you ever need your routers manual you can find them here. https://www.verizon.com/support/residential/internet/fiosinternet/networking/user+guides/user+guides...

You can find quick guides for tv, internet and phone here. https://www.verizon.com/Support/Residential/tv.htm
