OK so I recently "upgraded" to a Multi room DVR the 7100 series I believe, my problem is the remote is terrible. I can literally be 6 inches from the DVR and the thing won't change channens or do what I want it to do half the time, It is sooo frustrating.
The old STB worked fine but this one is a pain, what can I do?

Try new batteries?
Did you have an HD DVR before? cuz a "multiroom" DVR is the same as an HD DVR, with a setting enabled by Verizon to allow it to multi-room.
If you didn't have one before, and it's a new box, then yeah, try new batteries.
You have a plasma screen tv right?
7xxx series stb's have IR problems with plasma screen tv's. Move the STB at least 2 feet from the screen and try again. It should then work.
