STB Settings

I have a 1080p tv and a Motorola DVR box that has looked fine for the past year and a half.  I was having problems with pixeling, so I called FIOS customer service.  They updated the software or something on the box, and now the picture does not pixelize anymore.  However, since the reset, the menu screens for FIOS and standard definition channels do not look right.  Does anyone know what setting I need to change so the standard definition channels would look better again?

The menu might look slightly different by default beacuse they changed it in preperation for the new hd menu they are getting.  But the Standard definition settings can be reached by clicking on menu -> settings -> video settings.

Standard definition is only manipulated through one setting here and that is called SD OVERRIDE  SD for standard def.

480i is good, a lot of people use stretch but you lose picture quality a bit.   experiment with the different settings and see which are good for you.

your choices will be off

480i

480p

and

stretch.

you have to scroll down for stretch, you won't immediately see it.
