Lately whenever we try to create a series recording on our DVR the box inexplicably crashes when we save the recording. We will select save and the box just reboots (and looses the recording in the process). Is anyone else having this problem or is anyone aware of a resolution?
Try power cycling the box first (a reset should be doing the same thing, but it's easiest enough to try) by unplugging the box for about 30 seconds and then plugging it in and waiting until the time shows backup again and the box finishes initializing.
If that doesn't work, you could try calling Verizon and ask them to reinitialize the box (not just reset).
If that doesn't work, I suspect the Verizon tech will surmise the DVR is faulty and send you a replacement which is likely the best course of action..
