Have a Cisco Set Top box in my family room.  It is set up to my Vizeo HD TV with a HDMI cable - No problems.  I ran a coax cable off the STB to my basement where I have a 12" TV in my work area.  My issue is this.  I turn the STB on and can only get the picture on the small TV in the work area (the one off the coax cable).  I can get picture and sound on the small TV only if I have the Vizeo HD TV on. Seems to me I should be able to get both picture and sound with just the STB on thru the coax without having to have the HD TV on.

Thanks for any help

With HDMI and copy protection that may be an issue. Also the Cisco DVR has an energy star rating that could be putting the box in standby mode when it senses the TV is off. You could switch from HDMI to component video and audio cables if you must run two TVs from the same box.
