Slow multiroom dvr, latency issue

Just today I have noticed an extreme slow down in response time when using the multi room dvr on all boxes...its taking up to 10 seconds to get a response to any input where before it was about instant espescially after 1.7 which sped it up nice...also today it seems my upload speed is capped at 20Mb where I use to be able to get 23-24 constant...now it seems its just capped at 20Mb while dl is still at 26-27Mb, and my ping is up around 30ms today where as before Ive never seen it above 5ms really

the first link below is the line quality test I took today...then the 2nd one is from december, third is october

the max latency seems to go way up with the recent test as compared to previous tests

I have very little knowledge of this kind of stuff but im guessing latency is my issue...I have already reset/rebooted the actiontec and STB's with no luck...is there anything else I can try before calling verizon dreadfully

Tommy76,

I know you said you rebooted the router already, but have you attempted a pin reset?  Press and hold in the reset button on the back of the router and then pwr cycle (actually unplug pwr cable) on any Set Top Box in question (incl. the DVR hub).  See if this helps.

As for the speeds, though speeds of 20-25Mbps are impressive, if you got higher speeds beforehand, you should probably be getting them now.  However, that would refer to your WAN speeds.  Your in-home speeds (and thus your ability to use the MRDVR feature would be unaffected by WAN speeds.

However, the fact that both seem to be affected would suggest the router could be the culprit.  So try that pin reset and see if that works.

Chris
