Whenever I go to the guide, its very slow. There is like a few second delay, not instantaneous. What could be the problem? The set-top box, or something else?

My boxes are having the same issue recently. Is anyone else having this issue or have a solution?

Hello,
If you haven't reset your set top box yet, try doing so by following these steps:
From the FiOS TV remote, go to Menu -- Customer Support -- Fix FiOS TV Issues. Click OK.
Select 'Auto-Correct My STB/DVR'. Click 'OK' and then click on the right arrow for next.
Select the STB that is problematic (currently viewing) and click on the right arrow for next.
Read the warning (re: any recording on the selected STB (if DVR) will be impacted and click on the right arrow for next.
Autocorrection would then start when the STB shuts off.
Wait until the TV displays the message 'Press Menu to watch FiOS TV...'
Press Menu and then you should see the message 'Initial download in progress...'
Navigate through guide/menu selections to see if the response time on the remote is any better.
If all else fails, contact Verizon's Technical Support
via livechat at verizon.com/contactus
or by calling 1-888-553-1555.

I've also seen that problem fixed by going into the STB menu
Press menu
go to settings
Go to video settings
select SD override and turn it OFF
if it's set to off already, then switch to 480i.
Something with the video processing on that setting can slow down the channel changing, pulling up guide and menu and VOD menu's.
Give it a whirl, let us know

Hi 22Becca22 (and other listeners),
Can you tell me if the whole Set Top Box Auto Correction does anything other than just reboot your STB. How is this any different / faster than the old solution of just unplugging the box (you know, other than all the extra steps involved and having to get off the couch)? Why not save a couple steps and use Menu > Customer Support > In-Home Agent > Reboot STB?

i think it is something with the processing too. because, as far as navigating the guide and menu is concerned, if the graphics setting is set to SD (setting/video settings/graphics settings) navigation is more responsive.

the only thing i've noticed with the Auto Correct is it seems to have fixed my problem of my box shutting off about 4 times a week while entering Facebook via the widget... it's been a few days now and it hasn't shut off while trying to enter Facebook via the widget... the guide however is still slow as ever.

Glad to hear it, avemaria92. I'm glad Anthony_VZ's advice did you some good. If it does solve your widget problem, might want to go back and "thank" him for it. As for the guide...

I spoke to verizon support yesterday and he suggested to have my router replaced. I'll be getting my router tomorrow.

So I just got my router today. There is still a bit of delay and lag.
