I want to connect my Cisco router to my ONT, and ditch the little Actiontec deal. I am sick of its NAT'ing issues. Can I just call Verizon and have them update the ONT to use the ethernet connection?
Thanks

You do know that you will need either the Actiontec or a NIM-100 as a MoCA bridge in order to get guide and VOD if you have TV?
Take a look at this FAQ (link) that shows how to bridge the Actiontec (see networking section 3) and get it to work with another router (either as primary or secondary).

Yes I am aware of that.
