This is probably because Verizon sent either a remote reset or a firmware upgrade.
Based on your description(s) I am assuming you have the TV(s)s in question plugged into the rear power outlet and the STB is set to turn the outlet on or off with the STB. My suggestion would be to not plug the TV into that outlet or change the setting for the outlet to always on and turning the TV off independently of the STB.
