Hi.
I'm thinking about upgrading to the new quantum boxes but I curently have about 20 shows on an external eSata that I just setup earlier this year. I know theres no good way to pull off the shows but was wondering if theres any way to stop recording on the external and dwindle the shows off.
any thougths are appreciated.
Thx
shaun

My fisrt thought is to say to disconnect the esata drive unless you watch something.
But then items will be recorded to the local drive that won't transfer either.
So you either have to watch it all, or lose something when you migrate over.

Just turn off your external drive and you will once again only record to thre internal hard drive, when you want to watch what is on the external drive turn it back on, you may need to reactivate the external drive but you will not loose any previous recordings.

Thanks Guys,
I never thought about reconnecting just to watch...Verizon chat was totally useless---foreigner reading from a script. Verizon call in support tried to help, but his thoughts were order up quantum, then disconnect cables from old box but leave hdmi in...funny he had the same issue and no solution.
I'll give it a try...

Just make sure the box does not get powered off.
If it does, you can't view what is on it anymore.
And make sure to export series to the cloud so you can import to Quantum box.
