Upgrade DVR and exhange charge

1st thing--  I have been trying to do the upgrade from my email.  It keeps telling me unable to process at this time/unavailable,etc.  I have replied to the email and sent a message to the support group since Weds and nothing yet.    2nd thing--Also why should we be expected to pay an exhanged fee of $39.99 when I have have the same DVR for at least 3 yrs now.  I have complained about it pixelating and freezing twice before.  All they do is reset the box and say it will ok now.  I have asked the last time to updgrade and they said "This should fix your problem".. If we treat external customers this "good" then no wonder you see bad press and posts.  Poor service, I have heard FIOS is the future but...... Bright House is looking brighter at this point.

The floods in Thailand last year, where many of the world's hard drives are manufactured, no doubt contributed to hard drive shortages that held up assembly lines and the difficulty in getting the newer DVRs. Nonetheless, a persistent customer may luckily stumble upon one. If you haven't yet done so, some have had good luck at local walk-in stores should such a store be nearby. It's not a sure thing, but at least you're not sitting around waiting for some anonymous email. Worth a try - and who knows? While you are there, you might even snag a freebie in programming or something. I have had very good experiences at my local store.

Good luck - I keep getting told there is no such thing as an upgrade for my 6416 unless I pay yet more $$ for multi-room...that and the fact that Verizon are half a decade behind on things like N routers makes me thoroughly unimpressed with Verizons idea of superior technology, which is what they want us to think they provide.
