How can I use my iPad keyboard for searching when using the FIOS mobile app? When I press the keyboard icon, I am able to enter text, but it is not transferred to the TV.

GO TO :

DVR  in your FiOS Mobile app.

In upper Right make sure that next to picture of Remote it indicates the name of the Set Top Box connected to that particular TV you want to control.

Make sure your TV and Set Top Box are ON

Touch the picture of the Remote

If some of the Remote picture does not show what you want to do with the Remote

move it.

USE(touch) THE REMOTE CONTROL PICTURE TO DO WHAT YOU WANT.

Just did it and it works for me. Using iPad2 with FiOS Mobile Version 5.3

Issue was not using the app to act as remote.

Issue is that you can bring up keyboard (same for Android) and use the keyboard to enter text in search. But it doesn't get transferred to STB.

You are stuck with using arrows and enter key just like on remote.

That works inside the app.

Doesn't work if you are looking for a show and want to watch it on stb.

Thanks for all the tips. It looks like I cannot do what I was trying to do, but some of the suggestions helped me understand how to use the app better.
