I purchased a sata external drive, which was recommended by Verizon, to add recording space to my previous dvr. There is a sata port on the vms 1000 server for this purpose. Will this be functional so I can get back the recording space I previously had?

The port isnt enabled yet, but it will be in a new firmware release. No one knows when that will be though, but I'm sure it won't be to far down the road. I think Verizon is pushing the media servers to customers as they are to work out the current kinks before pushing out a new firmware.

To Joker's point. It feels like we are the "beta" testers for Quantum and all the same apples to apples functionality is not in the new VMS. Frankly I don't appreciate being a beta tester and having to pay a preium for it.

As of 11/2/14 it appears eSATA is still not supported on VMS1100!

Last word I heard from Verizon is that they have no plans to enable eSata port on VMS.
Claim is that VMS has as much or more storage as the boxes provided by other providers (cable and satellite).
