Recently the movies I am renting via VOD periodically freeze for a few seconds and/or during the movie the scenes frequently "tear" or become pixelated on parts of the screen. What's going on? It's very annoying.
Powercycling the set-top box (unplug) for about a good minute [and then wait until the time is displayed again before trying your picture] should temporarily clear this up, A call to tech support at 1-888-553-1555 will also temporarily clear this up, who would do the same thing over the internet (stb reload) BUT the base issue causing this is a communications\CABLE issue. You need to re-seat all coax connections by simply unscrewing both ends of each coax cable one at a time and immediatly screwing them right back on, snugly. This re-seats the end connections and clears the issue. NOTE: you may need to do this to each cable in the line, back to the splitter, back to the Optical network terminal.
