VOD down every night

I work nights and come home hoping to watch a little TV and then go to bed.  Unfortunately when I get home it's mostly infomercials so I rely heavily on VOD.  5 nights out of 7 VOD is not working.  I reset everything and still not working.  When I go online I always get the message that VOD is down in my area and will be returned usually in the morning.  Fat lot of good that does me...I'm sleeping then.  I am seriously considering returning to Comcast (I hate Comcast) even tho the $$ is more but if I'm not getting VOD what the hell am I paying for?  Please, please fix this Verizon.  I've been singing your praises to everyone and I work in a casino....I talk to a LOT of people.  Please don't make me go back to Comcast (did I mention I hate Comcast??).

It seems we are having the same issues also.  My wife works until 1AM and when she comes home and tries VOD she says she gets an error message and she can't use it.  I am not awake, but I am sure it doesn't work if she says so.  What is going on?

I hate Comcast too - one of the happiest days of my life was calling them to terminate service because I switched to FiOS. 🙂

I don't do a lot of VOD myself (especially late night) but haven't seen this problem.  I'm curious where you are located and if you have tried unplugging the STB when the problem is happening and the plugging it back in.  That can solve some problems... not that you should have to do this, but I am just curious if you tried and that did or did not fix it.  That's often my first step at troubleshooting.

Hi EricN, yes I have unplugged & plugged back in, tried reseting and also went on website to have them reset it.  Whenever I go onto the website and check for problems it's always VOD is down and will return .....always gives a time in the a.m. which doesn't help me much as I'll be sleeping then.  I'm going to give Verizon a call tomorrow and see what's up but I'm sure I'll get nothing in terms of an acceptable answer.  I love FIOS and have even gotten used to the guides (page down would be wonderful) but without VOD at night it's almost useless.

Hi pegling, hopefully they can help with the VOD down problem.  Regarding the PageDown in the Guide, if you are using the FiOS remote, does the Channel Down rocker not page down for you?  The arrow down should go down one line at a time and the Channel down should perform a Page Down.  Unless I'm mistaken or misunderstand your problem.  Good luck again 🙂
