I am trying to connect the TV directly to coaxial cable without a box. I should be able to get local channels but the TV get no channel. I called Verzion Tech support. They kept telling me because I was not getting any signal I need a box. I don't think it is the case. When I asked for another person to help, the lady just hang up the phone. I never had such bad support experience with Comcast.

Without knowing the make and model of your TV it is hard to answer your question. The thing to look for in your manual is if the TV has a QAM tuner (this is different from an ATSC tuner which is used with an antenna). If it doesn't then you wil;l not be able to get anything. The other thing is to find a way to verify that the coax you are using is actually connected back to a splitter that hooks to the ONT (the box where the fiber comes in).
