Very disappointed with non-HD new channels offered as a result of realignment

Not being a owner of a high def TV, I was nevertheless looking forward to the new non-HD channels that FiOS TV has been promising as a result of the channel realignment. It was a let down to learn that only 4 new channels were being added. Now that the realignment has occurred in So. California, its further disheartening to find out that 2 of those channels, RFD and Current TV, apparently require separate subscriptions. That leaves just ReelzChannel and Veria as the only new channels in the Essentials Plan. I've been a FiOS TV subscriber for more than a year, and all the promotion surrounding realignment led me to believe that the new channel selections would be more extensive.

You can receive all the HD channels on your older TV with a HD STB.  The box will downconvert those channels to SD so your TV can display them, although you will still get the Dolby Digital 5.1 sound if you have a surround receiver.

Content providers aren't in a hurry to offer new SD channels, except those that serve very small niches.  Looking forward, almost all new channels will be HD only.

Ken, that's not what he asked. He's referring to two SD channels that are only part of HD Extreme, he doesn't want HD Extreme, so he should be entitled to the SD's, unfortunately that's what they did to those two stations, which doesn't make sense.
