Watching on Demand on the road

So let's see, I want to rent a movie and watch it on my laptop.

1. Go to web site, log in, find the movie, click "watch."  It tells me I need to install Silverlight - which is a crock in the first place.

2. So, I install Silverlight.

3. Try again - in Safari, Chrome, and Firefox (on a Mac) - each one still tells me I need to install Silverlight.

4. Try to rent on Fios Mobile App - it tells me that I'm "not subscribed to this channel" - which is kind of odd since I've just clicked "pay" for an on-demand movie.

5. Give up and rent the same movie, for the same price, on Amazon Prime.  Search, click, and it's playing.

What utterly messed up technology from a company that usually gets things right.

Oh - just to be a further annoyance.  I'm prompted to replace Fios Mobile with the Fios TV app on my phone.  I do so.  Now I'm no longer paired with my DVR - which is rather a pain, given that I'm on the road for the next three weeks.
