Anyone know why I cannot watch DVR recordings on my laptop? Is there a way to do so ?

Not available.  Blame the MPAA and their paranoia about copy protection and DRM.

thats interesting. Directv have an app u can install that allows you to see some tv progs that you have recorded but not any that you have paid for via VOD etc.
