Is Verizon giving any consideration to looking to a new vendor for ESATA hard drives or going to DVRs with larger capacities? (the issue of technical support is a problem too: both Verizon and WD point questions in the other's direction, this is ridiculous.)
The second external Western Digital Hard Drive that I have bought in the last year has just failed -- just like the first one. Both with hundreds of hours of recordings. WD's response has been to offer to send me a replacement hard drive, if the original is under warranty. This is not satisfactory.

Except perhaps for refurbs, verizon does not make the final Drive decisions. They do work with the designers Cisco/ Motorola (Arris) on what options they would like. Hopefully the new Motorola (ARRIS) VMS1100 will roll soon with a larger drive. Last time with the 7232, they actually increased the drive size at the last minute from 320 to 500GB.
