When is new update for HD-STB going to be available?

I recall reading that there was an update planned to the HD-STB that, among other things, would provide HD Guide.

Any news or updates?

HD guide rumors but nothing announced. Perhaps in a future release on a future box. The latest release came with a stretched guide, and so many complaints they put it back.

The 1.7 IMG release in December added a stretched 4:3 to 16:9 guide to the 7xxx series STBs. However, since it's stretched and not true 16:9 HD, it is being reverted to 4:3 in the 1.7.1 release that is being rolled out now.

Having an improved HD guide I'm sure is near the top of Verizon's list of priorities, along with the Cisco STB release and possible DVR feature improvements. Those are the main areas where they are lagging behind third party STBs like TiVo and Moxi.
