Which Set-Top Box is best?

O.K., set top box decided to quit on me tonight.  Live Chat agent says I can exchange my dead one for another at no cost to me at a Verizon store tomorrow. Any suggestions as to which box I should ask for as a replacement?

My old one that just died was a Cisco model CHS-335HDC.  It's a shame too as when the technician was out here awhile

ago he said that box was better than the others.

The Cisco 335 is the newest Cisco stb that they have. You could see if they have a Motorola 7100 P2 set top box which are better in my opinion, but they don't have clocks on them so if a clock is important to you stick with the Cisco 335.

Keep in mind the store may only stock one kind in your area. The Cisco 335 and the Motorola 7100 P2 are the newest set top non dvr boxes so I would only go with either.

You can see user guides here for all models old and new.

Also keep in mind that all boxes in the house must be the same brand, Motorola or Cisco. Plus Verizon must change the provisioning of your account if you do change brands. So since you have Cisco now, you are almost certainly limited to getting a replacement Cisco box.
