Why will it take 4 days to receive a new channel?

Message 1 of 3

Today is Saturday. I noticed that MASN-HD was showing the WVU-Syracuse game at noon. I don't have MASN-HD but decided to sign up for it so I could watch this game. I logged in and saw that I had to order the Extreme package in order to get MASN HD. Fine, whatever. I place my order and wait. And wait some more. Hmm, something's not right so I call. After wading through the inner circles of CSR [edit] I finally learn that it takes at least one business day to "process" my order and I should expect to see something by Tuesday.  **bleep**? I tell Ted (I don't know what his real name is so I've gone with Ted) that I will personally pay Ted whatever it takes to get the game on my TV today. In today's economy, cash is a better motivator than ever. {please keep your posts courteous}I'm paraphrasing but that's the gist of it. I then tell Ted that if I can't watch my game then I want to cancel the order; I'm sure watching MacGyver in fake HD on channels I don't care about is AWESOME but I really just want to pay $10 to watch my game today. [edit]  I'm too lazy to even cancel the package so Verizon will continue to get an extra $10 from me a month forever. What's that Ted, that's a different department and they are closed today? I'll have to call back on Monday? That's perfect Ted. No, no, no, you've been perfectly helpful today. Please don't cry Ted. Really, it's not you, it's me.

Both Comcast and DirecTV can turn channels on why you wait on the phone. Verizon is still rubbing sticks together trying to make fire. Is "Extreme" really the name you want to give your package?

I agree it would be nice to have the billing and subscription system integraded and working properly. It would save Verizon a bundle and improve customer satisfaction. Right now it is just like the phone company has always been, you must have an order created and someone must do it, and you must hope it was done correctly so your bill is right. The other companies have been doing this for a long time and have all the details worked out. Verizon was a just a comunications company and now provides media services too. The others are media companies that are providing phone services. There are tradeoffs, but I can live with that, and love my FIOS.

Have you tried calling tech support? We can usually fix issues like that quickly by "flowing" your order, assuming the order was actually placed.
