Windows XP driver for QIP7216?

Message 1 of 4 (5,590 Views)

I want to hook up my STB to my XP box via IEEE 1394 (firewire.) The STB locks up when I do this but it comes back if I turn it on and off.  Windows is, of course, asking for a driver.  Is one available?  I’ve looked a few places with no luck.

Thanks! Smiley Happy

Searching this Board with the following search values "stb firewire driver windows" I found the following thread which discusses in detail how to do this and where to find the drivers: Link

I have never tried this so I have no idea how well it will work other than what is said in the post.

Be aware that you won't be able to record any content from cable channels with a PC.   IEEE1394 output is encrypted for cable channels, and can only be recorded with an authorized 5C device like a [discontinued] JVC HDTV D-VHS VCR.
