do i need a set top box?

i have fios and was wondering why i cant get anything using the digital tuner in my hdtv.  do i need a set top box on my hdtv to recieve regular programing?  cablevision didnt require a stb and i got an amazing digital picture in my hdtv...

Is the tuner an ATSC tuner or QAM tuner? ATSC is for OTA digital, QAM is for cable. Fios does have stations available in QAM.

this is what the tech specs say...

Tuner: Integrated NTSC/ATSC/QAM HDTV Tuner

i did a scan last night and the only channels i recieve are listed by my tv as  63-1002, 63-1003, 63-1004 etc.

however,  i do get the banner at the top of the screen that displays the channel number ( 2-1    WCBS) but there is also a message that says "no audio, no video)  

i get the channel guide and all the show info but no picture...
