I have the Western Digital 500 GB (WDBACS5000EBK-NEVZ) external hard drive connected to a QIP 72161 DVR and it has worked well for about two years until recently. A couple of months ago the external drive started only recording scheduled programs selectively, about 50% of the time. The other shows are recorded on the DVR's hard drive. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it other than the fact that it started happening when the external hard drive hit about 50% capacity. I have done full reboots of DVR, external drive and router, and have run Fix Common Problems widget to no avail. It's not a major issue that I want to call Support about but I was wondering if anyone had experienced this phenomenon or knew how to remedy it.
