fios remote not working on STB

I can control my TV just fine with my remote.  Does not work at all on my STB.  I also tried to control my STB with my android phone app, same thing, not connecting.  So it appears to be an issue with the STB?.....a new remote will not help.  I've powered down the STB and restarted, 3 times now.  No change.  What next?

Sounds like the ir sensor on the stb has gone bad.  If nothing is blocking it, I would have them switch the box out with a new one. You can either call them, go to a fios store, or do it through your verizon account online.
