new hd activation

I've had fios for at least 2 years.  No problems. Four standard STB's.  I just upgraded 2 of the

boxes to HD, one is a DVR.  Motorola models 7100 and 6416 (DVR).  It took them sitting all night

to activate (after 45 minutes on the phone with tech support).  Both the boxes had the clock

showing in the morning.  A couple of problems (btw, I'm in Maryland):

1.  anything under channel 50 works and channel 119 works.  Nothing else.  No HD.

2.  the 6416 hdmi out to my Vizio hdmi input not working.  Could be cable, could be the output

on the 6416, could be the tv.  Not sure.  I hooked up the composite video out to the tv and it works.

The 7100 hdmi out to my westinghouse hdmi input works fine.

3.  when I go to menu->settings->dvr on the 6416, I get a message saying dvr is not available for

this box.

I've power cycled the boxes.  No changes.

Any suggestions before I spend 30-45 minutes to get tech support on the phone and then another

30 minutes talking just to end up scheduling a service call?  Verizon:  it's the network.

sounds like your activation went through slow and needs to be initialized to get going again.
