Is it possible to purchase stb instead of the monthly rental fee? I know it's a longshot...doesn't hurt to ask.
Verizon only offere's their stb's for lease or rent. If you wanted to make a purchase of "a stb" or dvr in general, then You can purchase a TiVO or a MOXI and then you would only have to lease a cable card, for roughly 3.99 a month compared to the 15.99 / month DVR that they offer.
