remote dvr

I am a fios tv subscriber with 2 7216 dvr's. I am able to log onto fios tv central using my verizon.com user id, it shows my boxes but under the

remote dvr tab i only get a default remote dvr screen showing how to log on and use this feature.

Looking at my stb under menu help system diagnostics it shows remote dvr as "not applicable"

I worked with 3 different techs via phone support and got varying degree of answers.

1 said i had to have home media subscription.

1 did use my computer remotely to see what i was seeing, this person filed a report.

next tech said i needed to have internet subscription also in order for this feature to work.

He did ask another tech who said it should work without internet subscription.

No result yet, is it true i have to have fios internet subscription also?? I am a little confused as i travel for

work frequently and thought this feature would prove useful.

Thanks!

Randy

Remote DVR only supports one DVR, not two.

only one would be fine, so should i get rid of one to enable

this feature to work on the remaining dvr? 🙂

I'm pretty sure you can still have two, but only one will work.

It sounds like the Remote service was not activated. Have you tried rebooting the DVR and re-initializing the service? You can have 2 DVR's but the one you initialize the service on is the only one that you be able to record too. And NO, you do not have to have a media subsription or Fios internet for the service to work. The Remote DVR service is now a fully open feature of FIOS TV. When Verizon first added the Remote feature it was only availible to VZW customers, but that is no longer the case.
