roku activation with espn not working / keeps spinning

I've been trying to activate espn as usual with roku (espn.com/activate) but when I get the activation code and select Fios as the provider the Verizon page the normally opens up spins continuously (20 minutes and counting) saying 'Please wait - we are verifying your account'.   As a test, I activated another roku channel I don't use much and it went smoothly through the Verizon FIOS activation.  The URL derived from ESPN.com/activate that keeps spinning is:  is:  https://ssoauth.verizon.com/sso/VOLPortalLogin?loginType=vzRedirect&partner=ESPN&TOP=Y&partnerlogo=n...

Try going into the settings on the Roku, go to the ESPN app, clear cache then info, reboot Roku, try again.

Have you check, you are following correct instructions to activate ESPN on Roku. 

If you miss any single step, you will face error. So check again why this is not working. 

You can also follow these given below steps to activate ESPN on Roku.

  • Start the ESPN app on your Roku device and click on Settings
  • Go for Subscriptions
  • Click on ESPN or ESPN Plus
  • It will be asked for Sign Up or login account
  • Select ESPN account and visit https://www.espn.com/watch/activate on your Mobile or PC
  • Enter the activation code shown on your Roku device and press continue button
  • Now subscription linked with your Roku TV or Roku device
