When technicians come to fix wiring or whatever theirs always a fee but is it billed or you have to pay for it upfront?
Verizon policy is that if you have the Inside Wire Maintenance Plan then wiring repair is free. If not, it is billed. I have never paid a phone company or cable company technician for work done at the time. Not to say it's not possible but...
I have never been asked to pay "up front" for a service -- Verizon, like many utilities, may use a combination of employees as well as subcontractors and thus paying them directly would be a bookkeeping nightmare. Now, I have been asked to sign a work order acknowledging charges which may be incurred and at what rate those charges would incur in the event the problem was determined to not be with Verizon covered equipment (i.e. my wiring, etc.).
