I just renewed a 2 yr contract in April due to the fees but I was just listing my home for sale. I told the rep that I was concerned that I may move to a building in the area not synced or wired for Fios. He told me it was "common sense" that if I moved and Verizon could not provide service I would not be charged a fee. I agreed and thought it was pretty standard.
My apt sold faster than we thought and I called to move my package to the new building since it is 7 blocks away. I was just told there is no service! And the customer service rep just said I owe a $225 early termination fee.. i shouldn't and will not pay a fee when Verizon is incapable of providing service to a building. That shouldn't be coming out of my wallet. I am posting this to see if anyone had similar issues? I'm ready to Yelp this to warn other people how Verizon does not keep their promises that are made when you are booking a service package.
