The emergency announcement that apparently superceded all programming Feb 13 about 9 PM was singularly unhelpful--worse, it ended up being amusing--not the intent, I am sure. To be helpful, the announcement should have stated we should be on the lookout for a possible abducter, who was driving an orange tractor, and may have a young girl from PG County. Instead we couldn't tell if somebody had been abducted, or someone, possibly a roving gang of marauders, was going to abduct children, but in any case we only had to worry until 21:22 (maybe by then the tractor would be out of our viewing market??). AND most importantly we didn't know what we were supposed to do about it. Then, as programming continued, the NBC station I was watching didn't even mention it in the promo for their upcoming news.

I agree. It was goofy that the report stated "girl last seen in the area of Prince Georges county".
That really narrows it down.
