Does the Verizon FIOS modem have a fax modem capability or is an external fax still required?
#1 With FIOS there is no dial-up modem.

While Verizon DSL uses your existing phone lines, there is no dial-up modem included in the DSL modem.

For example you can use http://faxzero.com/
b) Otherwise,yes an external fax machine still required.
