Been on hold for over an hour to talk to somebody any idea whats going on with the hold times?

Part of the problem may be from users with issues due to this week's storm.  You can try this:

If you are having an issue with your Verizon service, you can use the Verizon Troubleshooter to fix and report issues with your Verizon Phone, FiOS TV, or Internet Service, as well as to schedule a repair, here is the link:

Or you can try to contact Verizon via chat or email

Choose “Live Chat.”
If a chat agent is available to assist you, the chat link will become live after the page is fully loaded.

2 1/2 hours now. The live chat was unable to help me. Good thing I stayed on the line while talking with them online. 😕
