Please help. I have downloaded the software. It found no conflicts, & installed except when it got to the "installing Verizon Family Protection" it stalls. It just sits where it looks like all has installed as the bar is full. Problem is that it seems to be locked here.
II've had to cancel the program from Task Manager. Then I reran it... same thing.. two more times.... same..
What gives?
Running on a DELL Inspiron laptop, windows 7.

Try this
Run the mcafee uninstall program MCPR.exe it clears out any old mcafee entries that might still be in your pc from the manufacturer, and helps to let you do a clean install. You can download it from this website.
THEN.
- download and run the McAfee PreInstall Tool:
- Click the following link and save the file to your desktop:
http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/McPreInstall.exe
- Double-click McPreInstall.exe.
- Click the Start button inside the Preinstall Tool.
- Read the warning message and click OK to agree to the changes.
- After the Preinstall Tool completes, click OK.
- Click Close and restart your computer.
- Click the following link and save the file to your desktop:
- Temporarily disable any third-party popup blockers.
- Uninstall any existing security software.
Then try to reinstall the software from scratch, and it should go through.
