When VZ orders DirecTV on your behalf to complete your package, VZ provides your credit information to DirecTV for an external credit check. Depending on the result of the credit check, it is possible there is a one-time upfront cost that will be charged to a credit card provided at the time of the order. If a deposit is paid, then DirecTV also provides a -$5/month discount on the bill until the deposit is paid back to the customer.
Also depending on the results of the credit check, equipment can be provided at no cost, or one-time charges for the equipment could be between $99 and $199.
