After reading a post on this forum about Verizon charging a $9.95 fee for returning A TV box, I called my local Verizon store and the person I talked to verified this practice which he said began October 1. 2013.  Now, I have been a supporter of Verizon, but I think this is a horrible practice.  So bad, in fact, that I will terminate my service when my contract is up.

For me, it is not the money but the principle which I think is outrageous.

No fee is charged if you return the box by mail.  But, if you do, you may have to fight with Verizon for months to have the fee removed from your bill.  There are many posts on these forums which complain about this.

It is my hope, that the outrage on these forums will be great enough for Verizon to change this policy.  At the very least, Verizon might try to justify their new policy.  It appears that this is just another way to gouge their customers.
