I downloaded the In-Home agent code on Oct 10th, 2012 - I ran the install and it appeared to install correctly but when I attempted to run it, it failed with an variable not initialized ( or something similar).

I am runnwing Windows 7 - 64bit.

I point to http://forums.verizon.com/t5/FiOS-Internet/Verizon-In-Home-Agent-runs-on-my-system-MAC-OSX-but-does-...

and quote the replies back.

i like the online version of the app at www.verizon.com/repair

you can do a lot of the functions of the app without all the bloatware.

As other have said it does something, it waste resources.  Not sure on the MAC, but on PC's it has been none to drive at least one cpu to 100% (If you only have one its really bad).  And the number of functions it does that you might ever want to do is minimal.

Personally I recommend that you uninstall it, and make sure you get all pieces of it.

Thanks for the response.  If the agent doesn't do anything for me, then I'll not worry that the starting program doesn't initialize.

Perhaps someone from Verizon will pass the problem on to the responsible change team.
